We were delighted to win the contract to design and supply the leisure alarm system to be installed at the new state-of-the-art sports facility built on the University of Birmingham’s main campus.
Working closely with other contractors on-site, the system was completed and commissioned prior to the opening of the new building in May 2017.
The alarm system is designed to meet the H&S requirements associated with running a large sports and leisure facility; it includes fixed and portable alarms in all areas of the building where members of the public and staff may be. These areas include: –
- Poolside
- Gyms
- Changing areas
- Studios
- Sports Hall
- Activity Rooms
- Medical Facilities
In addition, the main control panel for the system located at reception features an integral paging system that alerts members of staff around the building of an alarm in any of these areas.
This equipment that in the event of an emergency, the University of Birmingham can respond quickly and efficiently while complying with H&S requirements.
